School Spotlight: University of Michigan

There are over 4,000 colleges and universities in the U.S. And while the media tends to focus on just a handful of schools, we at College Coach encourage students to think outside the box during their college selection process and explore a wide range of colleges. As such, we are highlighting a new college each week in our School Spotlight series. Check out the college below, along with the other posts in our series, and you may just stumble upon your dream school!

School Spotlight: University of Michigan
Ann Arbor, MI

Passionate alumni… a thriving college town… inspiring faculty… an engaged student body. It’s easy to fall in love with University of Michigan, a highly selective, public research university that’s home to 31,000 undergraduates. U-M is one of those schools where you can be almost anyone, and study almost anything, and still find your niche. With 29 DI sports teams, more than 1,600 registered student organizations (bonsai club, anyone?), and approximately 130 majors, U-M is a top choice for high-achieving students from across the country and around the world. While most students flock to programs in the liberal arts, engineering, or business, the University also offers majors in pharmaceutical sciences, musical theatre, and sport management. A unique feature of U-M is its residential learning communities, which provide outlets for students from diverse backgrounds to share common interests, such as community service or women in science and engineering. Fun fact: these famous alums are all Wolverines – James Earl Jones, Lucy Liu, President Gerald Ford, and Tom Brady.
