School Spotlight: Rollins College
There are over 4,000 colleges and universities in the U.S. And while the media tends to focus on just a handful of schools, we at College Coach encourage students to think outside the box during their college selection process and explore a wide range of colleges. School Spotlight: Rollins College
Winter Park, FL
Location, location, location. For students who love warm weather and proximity to the water, Rollins College is hard to beat. The College’s beautiful campus is located in central Florida, adjacent to Orlando and situated on the shores of Lake Virginia. Here, approximately 2,500 undergraduates (45 percent of whom come from states other than Florida), can choose from a range of traditional liberal arts and science majors, including critical media & cultural studies, marine biology, and social entrepreneurship & business. A redesigned general education curriculum features “neighborhoods” inspired by Rollins alumnus Mr. Rogers. Students must take five courses in themes such as “When Cultures Collide” and “Mysteries and Marvels,” which combine interdisciplinary study with community engagement. Looking to get a jump start on earning your MBA? Qualified students can accelerate their business career by taking advantage of the College’s 3/2 Accelerated Management Program. Although international business majors comprise 30 percent of AMP students, you can major in anything from environmental studies to studio art before beginning graduate coursework. Fun fact: Rollins offers full scholarships (worth over $250,000) to 10 high-achieving freshmen each year.
