School Spotlight: Case Western Reserve University
There are over 4,000 colleges and universities in the U.S. And while the media tends to focus on just a handful of schools, we at College Coach encourage students to think outside the box during their college selection process and explore a wide range of colleges. As such, we are highlighting a new college each week in our School Spotlight series. School Spotlight: Case Western Reserve University
Cleveland, OH
Imagine how it would look to future employers if you graduated college with internships from Procter & Gamble, Amazon, the CIA, or GE Appliances under your belt. At Case Western Reserve, one of the nation’s leading research institutions, students have the unique opportunity to complete two full-time, paid internships during their junior and senior years. Thanks to an innovative co-op program, most science and engineering majors have access to hands-on work experience with some of the country’s most in-demand corporations. Back on campus, research options for undergraduates are endless. During the summer or school year, students who are interested in pursuing cutting-edge research can turn to the University’s 3,500+ full-time faculty members or over 100 designated research centers and institutes for inspiration. While science and engineering majors are clearly top draws at CWRU, students can also choose from strong programs in the arts, humanities, management, social sciences, and nursing. Top applicants may even qualify for conditional admission into the University’s medical, dental, law, or social work schools as part of the Pre-Professional Scholars Program. Interesting fact: graduate and professional students (6,500) actually outnumber undergrads (5,100) on campus!
