Learn More About College Coach In our School Spotlight this week, we take a closer look at the Montana Technical University. If you are interested in studying geophysical, metallurgical, mining or petroleum engineering, Montana Tech may be the right place for you. With a small student body focused mostly on STEM fields, strong research and internship programs, and job placement rates in the mid-90s, you might expect Montana Tech to have a high price tag. But it doesn’t. A public school with in-state tuition rates of under $10,000 and out-of-state tuition rates of less than $25,000, this university won’t break your bank. And students living in the 16 western states that participate in the Western Undergraduate Exchange will pay only 150% of the in-state tuition rates rather than the out-of-state rates.
