School Spotlight: Brown University
Providence, RI

Whether you’re an out-of-the-box intellectual; an aspiring doctor; a passionate artist; or a dedicated athlete, Brown University may be the perfect fit for you. Beginning with Brown’s famous “open curriculum,” it’s easy to see why this Ivy League institution attracts such a vibrant and diverse student body. Working closely with faculty and peer advisors, all Brown students develop their own curriculum that matches their specific needs and interests. And with more than 1,900 courses offered annually, it’s easy to find classes that satisfy even the most discerning student’s curiosity. Approximately 50 first year students are invited to join the elite Program in Liberal Medical Education, an eight-year academic track that culminates in an MD degree, while around 70 talented students take advantage of the unique Brown/RISD dual degree program that offers students the chance to study at one of the nation’s preeminent art institutions. Brown’s DI athletic program is huge – literally! Over 900 athletes compete on 38 varsity teams, from equestrian and fencing to football and water polo. For the over 7,000 undergraduates who call this creative and close-knit campus home, there is no more exciting place to be than Brown University.
