School Spotlight: Bradley University

There are over 4,000 colleges and universities in the U.S. And while the media tends to focus on just a handful of schools, we at College Coach encourage students to think outside the box during their college selection process and explore a wide range of colleges. As such, we are highlighting a new college each week in our School Spotlight series. Check out the college below, along with the other posts in our series, and you may just stumble upon your dream school!

School Spotlight: Bradley University
Peoria, IL

Finding a mid-sized university that offers a wide range of academics and an outstanding internship program can be easy. But what if you’re also looking for a school that prides itself on providing personalized attention and dedicated professors? Enter Bradley University. Located in central IL (approximately 3-hours from Chicago, St. Louis, and Indianapolis), the University attracts 4,500 undergraduates interested in everything from actuarial science and criminal justice studies, to early childhood education and music business. Internships are big here, and over 80 percent of students complete at least one during their time on campus. The Smith Career Center also sponsors various events and workshops throughout the year that specifically cater to job and internship seekers. Recent workshop topics include résumé writing, job fair prep, and interviewing tips. Love the idea of joining a select group of freshmen in a leadership development program, or even living with other students in a leadership-themed hall? Bradley’s Lewis J. Burger Center for Student Leadership and Public Service can help you accomplish all this and more. Fun fact: Bradley’s 15 Division I sports teams are known as the Braves, but their mascot, introduced in 2014, is a gargoyle named Kaboom!
