Bentley University

There are over 4,000 colleges and universities in the U.S. And while the media tends to focus on just a handful of schools, we at College Coach encourage students to think outside the box during their college selection process and explore a wide range of colleges. As such, we are highlighting a new college each week in our School Spotlight series. Check out the college below, along with the other posts in our series, and you may just stumble upon your dream school!

School Spotlight: Bentley University
Waltham, MA

Leadership, Power and Politics in Organizations…Technology, Innovation and Economic Performance…New Product Development and Marketing… Do these sound like the types of courses you’d love to take in college? If you’re a student at Bentley University, a business school located just minutes outside of Boston, you’re in luck. The university’s 4,200 undergrads can choose from a variety of business majors leading to a bachelor’s of science degree, including actuarial science, creative industries, and managerial economics. And because Bentley believes in the fusion of business, technology, and the liberal arts, the university even provides a special dual major option for business students looking to pursue a second degree in liberal studies (and still graduate in four years!). Bentley’s proximity to the city of Boston is a major boon for the 90 percent of students who seek an internship during their time on campus. In addition to listing internships in the Boston area, the career services office provides students with the resources to network and find positions nationwide. As of February 2017, internships are available at Fidelity Investments, Athena Health, Ernst & Young, and WGBH (Boston’s public radio station). Fun fact: As Bentley was founded in 1917, this year marks their centennial celebration. Happy Anniversary, Bentley!
